The National Board of Review announced the winners of its 2015 Awards on Tuesday (12/3). George Miller’s long-delayed post-apocalyptic action, Mad Max: Fury Road claimed the top prize, surprisingly as its only victory. In addition, The Martian, Room, The Hateful Eight, and Beasts of No Nation won multiple awards; meanwhile, some Oscar hopes were neglected. See the full list of the winner below. 

Best Film:  Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Best Director:  Ridley Scott  – The Martian (2015)
Best Actor:  Matt Damon – The Martian (2015)
Best Actress: Brie Larson – Room (2015)
Best Supporting Actor:  Sylvester Stallone – Creed (2015)
Best Supporting Actress:  Jennifer Jason Leigh – The Hateful Eight (2015)
Best Original Screenplay:  Quentin Tarantino – The Hateful Eight (2015)
Best Adapted Screenplay:  Drew Goddard – The Martian (2015)
Best Animated Feature: Inside Out (2015)
Breakthrough Performance:  Abraham Attah – Beasts of No Nation (2015) & Jacob Tremblay – Room (2015)
Best Directorial Debut:  Jonas Carpignano – Mediterranea (2015)
Best Foreign Language Film: Son of Saul (2015)
Best Documentary: Amy (2015)
William K. Everson Film History Award:  Cecilia De Mille Presley
Best Ensemble:  The Big Short (2015)
Spotlight Award: Sicario (2015) for Outstanding Collaborative Vision
NBR Freedom of Expression Award:  Beasts of No Nation (2015) & Mustang (2015)
