Announcing The Blind Spot Series 2017 Participation

After failing to complete Blind Spot Series 2015 and missing the whole challenge in 2016, Sinekdoks returns for Blind Spot Series 2017 hosted by Ryan McNeill of The Matinee. The idea is: picking 12 films to watch; one film each month for the course of a year. However, it is not merely a shame-list or to-watch list; there must be a sense of purpose to arrange the list.

As for 2017, I dedicate this year’s series as a homage to several Oscars’ Best Pictures I missed from the beyond the 2010s, which I can get the access to watch. I am gonna watch the films in reverse-chronological order to signify the flashback (except for two titles I cannot watch in backwards). BLOGATHON: Against the Crowd – Boo to ‘Trainwreck’, Yay to ‘Deep Rising’

Against the Crowd blogathon by Wendell of Dell on Movies returns for its third year. As for this year, he’s partnering with KG Movie Rants to host this annual blog event, where bloggers are asked to choose a movie we love that most people don’t and a movie we dislike that most people like. Here are some rules to follow.

  1. Pick one movie that “everyone” loves (the more iconic, the better). That movie must have a score of at least 75% on Tell us why you hate it.
  2. Pick one movie that “everyone” hates (the more notorious, the better). That movie must have a score of less than 35% on Tell us why you love it.
  3. Include the tomato meter scores of both movies.
  4. Use one of the banners in this post, or feel free to create your own.

The Sunshine Blogger Awards 2016

The Sunshine Blogger award nomination returns to Sinekdoks after it previously ducked on 2013. Enormous gratitude goes to Jenna and Allie from awesome Flick Chicks blog, who have nominated this blog to keep the light goes. It’s a big appreciation to receive such nomination; at least, I know that at least someone (in this case, two people) gives real attention to this blog.

To simply receive and pass on the awards, these are the fundamental rules:
-> Post the award on your blog ☑
-> Thank the person who nominated you ☑
-> Answer the 11 questions they set you ☑ (Below)
-> Pick another 11 bloggers (and let them know they are nominated!)
-> Set them 11 questions

Here are my answers to Jenna and Allie’s questions! Anyway, visit their awesome dynamic duo blog now!  Continue reading “The Sunshine Blogger Awards 2016”

The Liebster Award 2016

This is actually Sinekdoks‘ third Liebster Award in the last 3 and a half years. The first award hit us in 2013 and the second one in 2015. As for 2016, I was nominated by Wendell from Dell on Movies and accepted it. Now it’s my responsibility to answer the question and pass the torch to my fellow bloggers.  Continue reading “The Liebster Award 2016”

BLOGATHON: Against the Crowd – Boo to ‘Pitch Perfect’, Yay to ‘The Butterfly Effect’

Wendell of Dell on Movies brings about a new challenge in his latest (recurring) Against the Crowd Blogathon. In this very poignant blogathon, bloggers are invited to go against the crowd—complaining about movies that everyone loves but you hate and defending movies that everyone hates but you love. This is my first participation to this blogathon, so here’s the shot.

Wait! There are some rules to follow. Continue reading “BLOGATHON: Against the Crowd – Boo to ‘Pitch Perfect’, Yay to ‘The Butterfly Effect’”

BLOGATHON: The Film Emotion

Inspired by Pixar’s first hit in 2015, Inside Out; Connor of Conman at the Movies created a very fascinating blogathon, entitled: The Film Emotion. It’s a very excellent blogathon ’cause it allows us to pick movies that basically match our emotions—like those depicted in Inside Out. The rule is simple:

1.) Pick five films to represent the five emotions in Inside Out. The criteria for choosing these films is listed below. I would be willing to allow a tie, if you couldn’t decide between two films to best represent one of the emotions.
