05. Sonny Corleone (The Godfather)
Sonny Corleone (James Caan), Don Vito’s firstling, is the most violent son of the family and possibly the foremost heir of the godfather. He is gunned to die by Don Emiliano’s men with tommy guns when he’s heading her abused sister’s apartment. Being trapped and set back by his own brother-in-law, his death ignites a smoldering war between families. The portrayal of Sonny’s death in the first installment of The Godfather is so traumatic–well, only the Red Wedding in Games of Throne could possibly top it.
